Support Services
VEC provides outreach, information and referral, translation, and consultation services to seniors, adults with disabilities, Filipino World War II Veterans and their families.

Bill Sorro Housing Program
VEC serves low income individuals and families who are in need of affordable housing and other housing services by providing:

  • Legal Information & Referrals
  • Educational Workshops
  • Tenant Counseling
  • Bi-lingual Support Services (Tagalog)
  • Housing Application Assistance
  • Housing Case Management

Computer Skills Class
We provide an introduction to basic computer class to teach the seniors the fundamentals such as usage of the mouse, keyboard techniques in typing and familiarity with the components that are used in a computer. In this class, we ensure that we follow their pace.

Arts and Crafts
Our arts and crafts program provides a variety of choices like knitting, crocheting, jewelry making, family tree sketching and lantern/parol making. This provides an avenue for the veterans, their wives and widows, as well as other seniors to engage themselves in a positive outlet for expression and creativity.

Legal Clinic
VEC provides free legal service every first and third Friday of the month, 2-4 PM. Clients are served on a first come, first serve basis. Priority is given to WWII veterans and their immediate family.

Educational Forum
SF VEC provides legislative updates and information regarding current and proposed benefits for Filipino WWII veterans.

Recreational and Social Activities
The center provides a safe environment for seniors to socialize and engage in group activities during the day. Click here for a list of activities.

The SF VEC is an advocate for veterans’ equity, decent and affordable housing, access to culturally sensitive services for low income individuals and families, and other issues that impact the community.

Eligibility: VEC support services and social activities is open to all seniors or persons living with a disability.
